A Gasketed Plate Heat Exchanger consists of a number of pressed metal plates each with a rubber gasket. The gaskets are arranged in such a way so as to allow two fluids to pass in opposite directions up and down alternate channels. The plates are compressed between two heavy metal plates (head & follower) by a number of clamping bolts. The design of the exchanger enables it to be easily dismantled for cleaning or addition of extra plates.
